Flutterwave is a fintech startup that helps millions of businesses process payment seamlessly. The product has always been built primarily for bigger companies, but as the company grew we saw a surge of small scale businesses sign up on the platform but finding it a bit difficult to use because small businesses have specific needs that we didn’t cater for completely on our dashboard.
As the Lead Product Designer on the product team, I spearheaded the design, user experience strategy and led the entire design process from research to implementation, focusing on creating a solution that would make it easier for small businesses in Nigeria to receive payments and manage their online operations. I started by diving deep into understanding the challenges faced by small businesses, particularly their struggles with accessing reliable payment systems and managing online sales. Through user interviews, market research, and competitive analysis, I gathered insights that shaped our design direction. With a clear understanding of the problem, I designed an intuitive, user-friendly interface that helps businesses to receive payments, managing their online presence, and streamline their operations with ease. I worked closely with engineers to ensure the design was both visually appealing and technically feasible, guiding the team through multiple iterations and usability testing to refine the app.
The result was a powerful, easy-to-use solution that empowers small businesses to thrive in the digital economy, reflecting the company’s commitment to making financial services accessible to everyone.
I worked very closely with the Product Manager to deifne Product Startegy and led the design of the end to end process of the product.
